Fellow summer addition Nicolas Jackson, who joined from Chelsea in a deal worth up to £65m and has scored five times for Villa, described Manzambi as an "amazing player" who will go a long way. Jackson was fortunate to escape severe injury during the first half after being caught by an over-the-ball challenge from Sven Botman, who was one of six Newcastle players cautioned. Jackson acknowledged that the tackle "nearly broke my leg" but noted that securing the victory was what mattered most.
