Manchester United's frustrating run of form continued at Elland Road as Dominic Calvert-Lewin struck to earn Leeds United a Premier League draw, extending the visitors' winless streak to six matches. The hard-fought stalemate marks the first time since 2019 that Manchester United have gone six consecutive fixtures without securing a victory, prolonging an uncomfortable spell for the club.
The visitors had initially taken the lead when Bryan Mbeumo found the back of the net courtesy of an excellent cross delivered by Youri Tielemans. Operating from an inside-left role, Mbeumo shook off an earlier missed header by catching Leeds defender James Justin on his heels to score. However, Leeds responded through Calvert-Lewin, who grew in influence after a quiet opening period. Following an earlier header that flew wide and a second-half effort directed straight at Senne Lammens, the striker demonstrated his strength to hold off Mbeumo and convert an equalizer set up by Tarik Muharemovic's header.
The encounter produced plenty of edge and defensive drama throughout. Lisandro Martinez retained his place in the starting line-up despite inflammatory comments, prompting boos from the home faithful and cheers from the visiting supporters before Noussair Mazraoui replaced him at the interval. Frustrations surfaced elsewhere for the visitors when Bruno Fernandes overhit a free-kick out for a throw-in and picked up a yellow card for a challenge on Muharemovic, while Gabriel Gudmundsson was booked for Leeds following a foul on Andrey Santos. At the back, James Trafford executed a daring 30-yard clearance outside his penalty area, while Lammens produced an important stop at the other end to keep out a near-post header from Nico Elvedi.
Late adjustments failed to break the deadlock, with Mazraoui stepping up to provide a crucial block in stoppage time as Leeds threatened through the attacking runs of wing-back Jayden Bogle and fresh legs Lukas Nmecha and Sean Longstaff. Ultimately, the shared points leave Manchester United still searching for a much-needed return to winning ways as their sequence without a victory continues to mount.
