Tournament host Tiger Woods has not been included in the initial roster of players announced for the upcoming Hero World Challenge. The preliminary list of competitors, which was officially made public on Monday, did not feature the event's host among the confirmed participants scheduled to take part in the competition.
The event is scheduled to take place in Albany, Bahamas, running across four days from December 3 through December 6. Although Woods serves as the official host for the gathering in the Bahamas, the initial player field unveiled at the beginning of the week left his status as an active competitor unconfirmed for the December 3-6 dates.
Despite his current absence from the published roster, Woods has not been completely ruled out from competing in Albany. Organizers have maintained three exemption spots for the tournament, providing an available route through which the host could still be added to the competitive lineup prior to the start of play.
As the competition approaches its December 3-6 window in the Bahamas, focus will remain on how the organizers allocate those three remaining exemption entries. Because those vacant positions remain available, Woods retains the opportunity to be placed into the Hero World Challenge field before the action officially begins.
