Barnet have condemned the racial abuse directed at midfielder Isiah Noel-Williams following their 1-1 draw with Oldham. Taking to social media platform X, the League Two club highlighted the incident by sharing a screengrab from Noel-Williams' Instagram account, which revealed that an online user had targeted the player by responding with a racist image.
The club swiftly released a statement offering their complete solidarity with the 23-year-old in the wake of the incident. "Barnet FC condemns in the strongest terms the racist abuse directed at Isiah Noel-Williams on Instagram following today's game," the club stated. Reaffirming their collective stance, they added: "Isiah has our full and unwavering support. There is no place for racism in football, online or anywhere in society."
The offensive messages emerged following a challenging conclusion to the match at The Hive. Noel-Williams was sent off for a foul in the 70th minute of the contest. With Barnet reduced to ten men, Oldham went on to score a 94th-minute equaliser to ensure the fixture finished level at 1-1.
Noel-Williams signed for League Two Barnet during the summer after making the move from National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town. The midfielder, who is the son of former Watford, Burnley and Stoke striker Gifton Noel-Williams and previously featured in Kettering Town's FA Cup run in 2024, now has the unwavering support of his club as they stand firmly against the online abuse.
