The WNBA Finals have been brought back to level terms after the Golden State Valkyries produced a 67-62 victory over the Atlanta Dream in Game 4 on Saturday. The tightly contested result ensured that Golden State responded in a critical moment, pulling level in the championship matchup and keeping their title hopes firmly alive.
Key to the triumph for the Golden State Valkyries was Gabby Williams, who contributed 17 points to bolster the offense. In tandem with the 17 points from Williams, Golden State leaned on stellar defense against the Atlanta Dream. The Valkyries' defensive display restricted Atlanta to just 62 points over the course of Game 4, paving the way to secure the five-point win.
That combination of defensive prowess and scoring delivered a decisive outcome in the best-of-seven series, which is now locked at 2-2. By overcoming Atlanta 67-62 on Saturday, the Valkyries successfully prevented the Dream from pulling ahead in the WNBA Finals, ensuring that four games into the contest, neither side holds the upper hand.
With the best-of-seven series now standing deadlocked at 2-2, the battle for the championship remains wide open. Having split the first four meetings of the Finals, the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream enter the remainder of the series on completely equal footing following Saturday's Game 4 result.
