Leeds United are set to secure Dominic Calvert-Lewin to a new contract, ensuring the England international forward remains committed to Elland Road. The 29-year-old attacker, who has made a significant impact since joining the Whites, currently holds an agreement running until 2028, but is now in line to sign an updated deal with the club.
This development delivers a notable transfer blow to Manchester United, who have been exploring options to bolster their forward line in the January window. The Old Trafford side had been linked with Calvert-Lewin as a potential target in the wake of an extended absence for Benjamin Sesko, who is currently sidelined while attempting to recover from a shin injury.
Calvert-Lewin originally moved to Leeds as a free agent following his departure from Everton and has since proven to be a reliable source of goals. Over the course of 49 appearances for the Whites, the striker has found the net 20 times, reinforcing his standing at the club ahead of this impending agreement.
Alongside his exploits at Elland Road, the forward recently regained his place on the international stage after receiving an England recall from Thomas Tuchel in March. Although he missed out on selection for the World Cup, Calvert-Lewin was selected for the squad's most recent Nations League fixtures, earning his 14th international cap on 6 October during a 3-0 win against the Czech Republic.
