Aston Villa were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Fulham, as a costly error from goalkeeper Zion Suzuki proved pivotal. Despite Nicolas Jackson continuing his fine individual scoring form during the clash, the home side were unable to come away with all three points on their own ground.
Jackson made his mark on the contest by finding the back of the net, successfully registering his eighth goal in his last 10 games. The strike underlined an exceptionally rich vein of form for the forward, though his clinical output was ultimately not enough to seal a home victory.
Between the posts, Suzuki experienced a dramatic match of highs and lows. The goalkeeper had initially played a crucial role by producing a string of saves to thwart Fulham, only for his afternoon to unravel when an error led directly to him conceding an own goal.
That decisive blunder meant Aston Villa had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate against their visitors. Even with Jackson celebrating his eighth goal across a 10-match span, Suzuki's own goal ensured the spoils were shared as Fulham held firm for the draw.
