Manchester United have initiated an enquiry regarding Al-Ahli's 30-year-old England striker Ivan Toney as they assess their attacking options. While the Red Devils have explored Toney's availability, they have officially ended their interest in Leeds' 29-year-old England forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Meanwhile, outgoings are also developing at Old Trafford, with 16-year-old English forward JJ Gabriel set to depart the club as he nears a switch to Real Madrid.
In Spain, Barcelona are closely monitoring Chelsea's 19-year-old Brazilian winger Estevao Willian with an eye toward potentially making a move. The Catalan outfit also look set to hold on to 23-year-old Spain midfielder Fermin Lopez, who does not want to leave the club despite interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United. Elsewhere, Arsenal have maintained contact with Real Madrid concerning 20-year-old Brazil forward Endrick, even though the La Liga giants have insisted they will not allow him to depart the Bernabeu this season.
Arsenal's recruitment radar is also focused on young European prospects, with the Gunners keen on Bournemouth's 20-year-old French forward Eli Junior Kroupi. The north London side are simultaneously keeping an eye on Eintracht Frankfurt's 20-year-old Turkey attacking midfielder Can Uzun. Securing Kroupi will not be straightforward, however, as European champions Paris St-Germain are among the other suitors monitoring the France Under-21 international.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Crystal Palace are facing an impending dilemma over 29-year-old France striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, who looks set to leave Selhurst Park in January. Palace remain undecided on whether to cash in on Mateta during the winter window or keep him until his contract expires in the summer, when he would be permitted to leave as a free agent. Meanwhile, Liverpool look certain to part ways with 33-year-old Japan midfielder Wataru Endo and 29-year-old Italy winger Federico Chiesa next year, and Everton will not revive their interest in Monaco's 25-year-old United States striker Folarin Balogun in January following their unsuccessful summer pursuit.
