Fresh from a dramatic European comeback, Celtic head into the domestic weekend facing questions over whether their midweek turnaround represents a genuine turning point in their campaign. On the latest Scottish Football Podcast from BBC Radio Scotland, presenter Andy Burke was joined by Scott Allan and Gordon Waddell to debate whether the squad have finally unearthed the vital spark their season has so badly needed, and whether they can now convert that lift into momentum against Kilmarnock.
The discussion also turned toward Tynecastle, where an injury-hit Hearts side are enduring ongoing struggles. With the Tynecastle outfit dealing with a deepening injury crisis ahead of the weekend, Burke, Allan, and Waddell examined whether an in-form and flying Falkirk team can seize the initiative and punish their hosts away from home.
Elsewhere in the division, Rangers face a significant test as they travel to take on St Mirren. The panel evaluated whether the Ibrox side can maintain their title pressure on the road, scrutinising the team's ability to keep pace in the league during another pivotal round of top-flight fixtures.
The preview concluded by surveying the wider slate of Saturday Premiership battles, casting an eye over the Tayside derby as well as Aberdeen's meeting with Hibs. The pundits also turned their attention to Motherwell, asking whether they can successfully follow up on their long-awaited win when they make the trip to visit Dundee United.
