National League North club Harborough Town have completed the signing of striker Kyle Hudlin, recognized as one of the tallest professional footballers in the world. Standing at 6ft 9in (2.06m), the 26-year-old forward is eligible to feature for the Leicestershire-based side in their upcoming FA Cup first-round clash away against League One outfit Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Harborough manager Mitch Austin expressed his delight at securing the target man as a free agent, telling the club website: "His attributes will give us more firepower going forward. I'm delighted to welcome him to the club." Austin noted that he had followed the Birmingham-born striker's journey since watching him score the opening goal for Solihull Moors in the 2022 National League play-off final at the London Stadium. The manager added that the two connected through a mutual friend a few months ago, remarking: "What stood out first was Kyle as a person, before we even got to talking about him as a player."
Hudlin originally made his breakthrough at Solihull Moors, where he netted 17 goals across 69 matches before earning a transfer to Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2022. During his time under contract with the Terriers, which concluded in July 2025, he gained experience in the Championship and took in loan spells with AFC Wimbledon, Burton Albion, and Newport County. Most recently, the forward featured in Vietnam's top division for Nam Dinh.
Hudlin's arrival adds to the growing contingent of players with English Football League pedigree to link up with Harborough Town in recent months, following the acquisitions of former Wigan Athletic winger Michael Jacobs and ex-Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga. Nicknamed the Bees, Harborough last advanced to this stage of the FA Cup during the 2024-25 season, when their run was halted by Reading in the second round.
