Preston North End's turbulent spell with Montenegrin striker Milutin Osmajic has come to an end, with the forward completing a switch to Italian side Genoa. The 27-year-old joins the Serie A club on an undisclosed fee following three campaigns at Deepdale.
Osmajic leaves Preston with a solid goal return, netting 31 times across 111 appearances — including 25 goals in the Championship — though his time in England was far from seamless.
Controversy followed the forward throughout his stint with the Lilywhites. In October 2024, he received an eight-match ban after being found guilty of biting Blackburn Rovers defender Owen Beck. The troubles compounded four months later when he was accused of racially abusing Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri; he was subsequently charged and handed a nine-match suspension last November.
Even after serving his ban, Osmajic's return was brief and dramatic. Just four Championship matches into his comeback, he was dispatched to the dressing room for violent conduct while Preston trailed 3-0 at home against Hull City.
He featured in Preston's season opener at Bolton Wanderers but was omitted from the squad for Saturday's home defeat by Wolverhampton Wanderers, bringing the curtain down on a deeply eventful Preston chapter.
