Aston Villa have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Nicolas Jackson in a deal that would make him the most expensive player in the club's history.
According to The Athletic, the fee for the 25-year-old Senegal international is set at ยฃ47.5 million upfront, with additional add-ons potentially pushing the total package to ยฃ65 million. Personal terms for the move are currently being finalised.
The striker has been a long-term target for Aston Villa and manager Unai Emery, who has been an admirer of Jackson since their shared spell at Villarreal.
This potential transfer would mark the third piece of business between the two Premier League clubs this summer. Morgan Rogers recently completed a ยฃ117 million move to Chelsea, which was reported as a club-record fee for Stamford Bridge, while Alejandro Garnacho joined Villa on a season-long loan with a conditional obligation to buy.
Jackson spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, where he scored eight goals and provided two assists as a backup to Harry Kane.
His arrival at Villa Park could have significant implications for current number nine Ollie Watkins, who is understood to be pursuing a move to Saudi Arabia, with Al Hilal heavily linked.
