Manchester United are unlikely to appoint another interim head coach if they make the decision to replace Michael Carrick, according to reports outlining the club's potential managerial plans. The prospect of naming a temporary leader appears to have been ruled out as the club evaluates Carrick's standing and future at the helm.
Sky Sports News has been told that Manchester United are not expected to pursue an interim head coach route in the event of a change. While Carrick remains in place, questions surrounding whether to replace him have placed the club's succession strategy under the spotlight, with sources confirming that another short-term managerial appointment is not the intended course of action.
Any definitive call on Carrick's future is anticipated to materialize in the coming weeks. Should Manchester United formally resolve to move on from Carrick during this approaching timeframe, the process of replacing him would deliberately steer clear of another interim appointment, indicating a firm break from temporary caretaker solutions.
Going forward, the coming weeks are set to prove critical in determining whether Manchester United will act to replace Carrick or keep him in his current role. If a change does occur, the club's reported reluctance to install another interim head coach ensures that any replacement will represent a different structural direction rather than a stopgap measure.
